    Self-Portrait Practice Sheet

    Description

This bundled resource has everything I use to teach my kindergarteners (appropriate for Pre-k-2nd grade) how to create their self portrait.

Here is what this bundle includes:

    1. Drag, drop, and Draw digital game (web based) You can play it together on the classroom screen or assign it to each student to play in a web browser on any device using any learning management system
    2. Practice Sheet (printable) This sheet serves as a pre-test. I usually do not provide guidance when I assign this sheet. I use it to gauge where students are in their understanding of how to create and place the features of a face.
    3. Step-by-Step Art Lesson (powerpoint) This slideshow leads you and your students through all the steps of creating a self-portrait drawing and painting.
    4. Pin the Feature on the Face Game (printable) This game can be printed and assembled for you to create a "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" styled game where you blindfold students as they try to place the features on a face. This game gives you a chance to discuss where the features belong. (HINT: this game is also fun for creating a Picasso-styled scrambled up portrait).

Identify shapes as two-dimensional (lying in a plane, “flat”) or three-dimensional (“solid”).
Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/“corners”) and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length).
Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
