What educators are saying

This resource has been a lifesaver for assessing my students. It is easy to use and for my aide to use. Thank you!
I really liked using this resource with my students. The color pictures make it easy for them to follow along.

Description

These kindergarten assessments are now editable! Depending on if you use quarters, trimesters, or periods to assess, you may use these at different points in the year.

When I use this resource, I put the teacher version of the assessments (in color) in an assessment binder. I make copies of the student assessments in advance and have them ready in the binder. I sit down with a few students continually to assess, and put their data in my student data binder as I go.

Please note: As I continue to create the assessments, I will continue to update the bundle. Currently, this bundle includes second and third semester assessments.

These assessments are based on the PA State Standards. The common core standards that match are listed below.

Current assessments included are:

- letters / letter sounds

- beginning, middle, ending sounds

- CVC words / rhyming

- sight words

- phonics / decoding

- author / illustrator

- fiction / nonfiction

- summarizing / beginning,middle, end of a story

- numbers 0 - 20

- one-to-one correspondance

- sort / compare quantities

- patterns

- seasons / science standards

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
