    Novel Two - The Tale of Despereaux

    This unit contains seventeen pages of comprehension questions, seventeen pages of vocabulary work, a figurative language flip book, classroom posters, and a bonus movie packet. While reading The Tale of Despereaux, I found that this novel is filled with challenging words. Therefore, there is a large focus on using context clues and the dictionary to understand unknown words.

    The highlight of this novel study is that each student will illustrate a flip book focusing on figurative language found throughout the story. The following terms will be addressed:

Students will have a blast completing six extension activities and then constructing the story cube. The story cube is a great project to display during open house or any day of the year!
