Ever heard of recorder karate? Well, this has been adapted for beginning band! This is a fun way to engage students and give them a goal for the year! This is perfect for students at any age level who are considered beginning students. (first and second year players)
These files are to encourage practice or set a steady pace for learning songs out of the method book Sound Innovations (book 1)
Students can move through each "belt" and earn their way up through a black belt!
In this file you will receive the music challenge for each group in the band- Woodwinds/High Brass, Low brass, and Percussion. The percussion page has snare/bass AND mallets. (Use with the Combined Percussion book)
Though this is meant for Sound Innovations, the set up can be used for other method books. This is a word document, so the exercises can be edited for your use and what works with your students.
