Description
I always love to hear about other people's best lessons and games. Mine? Kaboom. This is the game that students BEG me to play. It is a perfect game for centers, teaching in the teachers' classrooms or on a cart, fast finishers, and more. You could even leave it for a substitute as a sub plan for a non music sub.
This bundle includes many sets of Kaboom! They are all played the same way, but cover different elementary music topics such as rhythm, solfege, recorder, ukulele, instruments of the orchestra, and more.
How to play Kaboom!
- Students take turns pulling out a card from a bucket or pile
- Student reads the card or plays the pattern
- If they are correct, they keep it. If they get it wrong, they put it back.
- If a student gets kaboom, that student puts all of their cards back.
*Note: I have students close their eyes when they pull out a card so that they don't cheat.
You can also listen and use it as an informal assessment.
