What educators are saying

This resource was extremely helpful with helping my students build sentences utilizing the sight words provided.

Description

These differentiated kindergarten and first grade journal writing prompts are a great way to introduce writing journals in your classroom. This kindergarten and first grade journal writing pack is NO PREP because the writing prompts are already created for you!

There are three different options for use, depending on the needs of your students. Each journal writing page includes a sight word section at the bottom where students can circle the sight words used to encourage the use of these words in their writing. Pictures are provided on each page for coloring.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

✍For Traceable Pages- Students will look at the picture and read the sentence either individually or as a class. They will then trace the sentence and circle any sight words used in the box below.

✍For Journal Prompt Pages- Students will read the prompt (or the teacher) and look at the picture to create a journal entry on the lines provided. Students will then circle any sight words that they used in the box below.

✍For Blank Pages- Create a writing prompt for your students and they will write on the lines provided and create their own picture in the box.
