"Jurassic Park" Foley Sound Complete Ready-to-Go Unit

This complete, ready-to-go unit will help you teach the art of creating Foley sound with Jurassic Park as your inspiration! Foley sound involves creating and performing everyday sounds for movies, television shows and radio.

This unit kicks off with a 1-day Sound Scavenger Hunt that gets students focused on capturing sounds all around them. After that, they will complete a Sound Off Listening Activity that introduces them to Foley sound. From there, you will walk students through a brief history of Jack Foley and how Foley sound was "invented."

Once students understand this art, it's time to challenge them with recreating the sounds from a Jurassic Park scene! They will love this immersive project that will transform the way they hear sounds in TV and film in the future. 2) Foley Grail Jurassic Park Presentation (PowerPoint) *also editable. This coordinates with the lesson plan as a visual guide for the instructor with several embedded videos/resources.

3) Sound Scavenger Hunt *1-day activity to kick off the unit
