Jump Right In! First Grade Companion Spreadsheet

Jump Right In! is a curriculum built upon the ideas of Music Learning Theory created by Edwin Gordon. While using my Jump Right In books I noticed it was difficult at times to find songs that were focused on concepts I wanted to teach quickly due to the sheer volume of material in each grade level. To make it easier for me to use my books I created spreadsheets for each grade so I could plan more effectively.

The First Grade spreadsheet lists the following items for each song in the First Grade book:

- Page in Jump Right In Book

- Disc and Track Number

- Tonality and Resting Tone

- Meter with macro/microbeats

- Keyality and Range

- Materials needed

- How the song and activities help support student learning and musical independence

This resource does not include the teaching plans for each song in the book. It is meant to be a tool to use to make planning and preparation more efficient.
