Description

These supplemental pages provide extra practice to go along with Journeys First Grade Unit 4; Lesson 18, "Where Does Food Come From?." The engaging activities provide a chance for independent practice while you are working with small groups or for you to use as assessment.

Future supplemental workbooks will follow the same format as much as possible so the children can look at a page and easily know what to do on that page with minimal instruction from you.

In this download, you get 15+ pages that focus on:
*identifying high frequency words
*identifying long A and short using "ai" and "ay."
*comprehension, inferring author's purpose
*working with contractions
*grammar, statements and questions
*writing a friendly letter
*writing a descriptive paragraph using senses
*activities that can be used in small group or centers

Although this was designed to accompany the Journeys reading series, you can see that the skills are applicable to any first grade curriculum. You do not have to read the story to complete the pages.
