Description

Science Journal topics are designed to be a short, reflective part of every class. They can be given at the beginning (following a lesson from the previous day) or end of every class (following the lesson from that day). Statistics show that journaling is very effective for maximizing retention for all level students. These topics are over beakers, graduated cylinders, rulers, triple beam balances, thermometers and spring scales. This includes three days of journal topics that build on one another. These topics can be written on a transparency, chalk/white board, power point presentation, etc. There are power point presentations that are designed to review each journal topic. The power point is a step by step instruction of reading the graduated cylinder and ruler (customary vs. metric). The journal topics (free download on this file) are basic, but the power points are detailed and guide students through a series of questions that include material that reflects information covered in released state assessments. *Make sure you get both documents!*Submitted by Riki Campbell.
