5. Jewish Immigration: Jews in Canada Post Confederation

  • Exploring Jewish contributions to Canada

6. Canadian Policy: None is Too Many

  • Explore the reasons behind the brutal policy and examine the stories of the MS St. Louis and the “Christie Pits Riots”

7. Canadian Policy: “Do Better” 

  • A look at Canada’s commitment to learning from past mistakes and its commitment to human rights

8. Canadian Policy: The Charter of Rights and Freedoms 

  • Understanding the rights and freedoms set out in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

9. Culminating Task: The Holocaust and Human Rights

  • An opportunity to have students critically think about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the impact it could have had on the Jewish people during Holocaust
