Japanese Sentence Structure Posters: Particles, Verbs, Nouns & Adjectives

• Included are sentence structure placeholder cards, particles, verb stems, present-tense verbs, verb endings, and a small set of basic nouns and adjectives. This was mainly designed to be used to demonstrate basic sentence structures to students. I would recommend placing the sentence pattern on the board for students to see, and writing your own, topic-specific example underneath it as a demonstration for students.
• This packet would be best printed in colour and laminated so that it can be displayed on a classroom word wall, whiteboard, or wall.
• You can also add a magnetic strip to the back of these to use on a whiteboard to show a specific grammar pattern. These are available from dollar stores for $2 to $4 and can be cut to size.
• Both the colour and black and white versions are included.

• Sentence starter examples
• Particle examples
• Suffix examples
• Placeholder cards to show where nouns, adjectives, verbs, and particles can go
• A, B and C cards for sentence structure A は B です。
• Adjective ending examples
• Noun pattern examples
• Verb conjugation examples
• Verb stems
• Common verbs (present form) such as eat, drink, watch, listen, go, return, etc.
• Common mid-sentence words such as however, then, also, after that, for example, then, etc.
• Some common nouns such as car, train, bike, school, me, name, friend, etc.
• Some common adjectives such as good, good at, quiet, famous, etc.
