Japanese Reader たぬき の たび Raccoon Adventure
- PDF
Description
Would you like your students to be able to read - either some or all of - a Japanese book? Here is a short story about a 2 raccoons called Poko and Pon who like to travel.
Hiragana plus simple Kanji (with Furigana) is at the top of the page, then English is at the bottom of each page plus Japanese keywords with the English translation.
This can be used as a class activity, or when students have 'reading time' in class.
Using the vocab at the bottom of each page will enable students to create their own stories as a follow-up activity. The possibilities are endless.
Culture is included throughout the book, such as temples, shrines, cherry blossoms and the pictures on the pages can be starting points for discussion and sharing.
The inclusion of English means that this can be an independent activity or even part of a homeschool program. I hope you will love the adventures of Poko and Pon as much as I do! Enjoy!
