What educators are saying

This is a great resource that get's my students to focus on sounds and syllable types when spelling. Love it!

Description

Are you looking for a fun and hands-on way to engage your students in spelling? This January-themed graphic organizer breaks spelling words into four easy steps:

1. Count the syllables

2. Count the sounds

3. Think about the types of sounds

4. Think about the types of syllables

This resource is great for scaffolding students who struggle with spelling and phonological awareness. It encourages students to slow down, think more deeply about the word they are spelling, and apply knowledge of phonics patterns and syllable types to spelling. This resource is available as a print or digital activity. Try it with your students!
