What educators are saying

My students really like madlibs. We had already done some activities with the Jabberwockey Poem and this was a great conclsion activity.

Description

Using the poem "Jabberwocky," students will identify the parts of speech of nonsense words. This exercise will help students to recognize how parts of speech work in sentence structure patterns. Students will also complete a "Madlibs"-style activity, replacing the nonsense words of the poem with real words using the same parts of speech. Finally, students will reflect upon their process of making meaning out of a poem comprised of unknown words. Answer key included.
