Description

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is my all-time favorite novel! It is the ONE novel that I have taught every single year for 18 years. I can’t get enough! While the novel is almost 200 years old, it has NEVER been out of print! Frankenstein is also a huge part of our culture, and has been ever since its inception. This activity introduces students to the novel by having them find direct and indirect references to the novel. From numerous movie versions, one of the most recent being Disney’s and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, to cartoons and comics, to spinoff novels, the examples are everywhere. As the teacher, all you have to do is add the due date to the Word-format handout and make the copies. The students will do the rest! Enjoy the novel, and thanks for considering this activity!
