Description
This personal finance budgeting lesson includes Google Slides, a guided notes worksheet, and 10 station activities with a recording worksheet. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of budgeting and will learn to use a 50/30/20 budget strategy. Answer Keys included!
While there are many methods for developing a budget, this lesson introduces students to the basic concepts of budgeting using a 50/30/20 strategy. This budgeting strategy recommends that 50% of income should be spent on needs, 30% on wants, and 20% on savings.
The Google Slides and Guided Notes included in this lesson will teach students about the importance of a budget and how to implement a 50/30/20 budget. Students will also be presented with budgeting scenarios where they will analyze whether budgets are following the 50/30/20 guidelines and suggest ways to adjust various budgets.
Students will then practice their knowledge by completing ten stations with additional practice scenarios. A recording sheet is provided for students to record and show their work. Stations can be completed individually or in groups.
