What educators are saying

This resource is great for my 1st graders who don't know their alphabet or struggles with it. We use them for RTI.
Great resource. As an interventionist, I have been able to use this with K-2nd students. It is easy to prep and students enjoy it.

Description

If you are in the Science of Reading 101 Membership, you can get these books in the Alphabet section! Login or join here!

**This resource will NOT be included in the Science of Reading Bundle. Thank you for understanding!**

I created these books as a supplement for your alphabet instruction. I have included my alphabet mnemonics pictures in these books to help reinforce the shape and sound of the lowercase letters.

TRY the FREE sample here!

I have also made sure to include all of the important skills kids should work on when learning a new letter. This includes:

•the name of the letter

•the shape of the letter (upper and lowercase)

•the main sound(s) of the letter

•a picture of the letter

mouth shape when saying letter sound

•opportunity for writing the letter

Instructions for Using the Books:

Cover Page

Page 1 – Say It (Kids can use the mouth shape and mnemonics picture to say the sound of the letter. Vowels will have both long and should pictures & mouth shapes included. Optional - provide kids with mirrors to check their mouths.)

Page 2 – Name It (Kids should name each picture, identify the beginning sound, and then color the pictures.)

Page 3 – Find It (Kids should circle or color the target letters. This includes both uppercase and lowercase.)

Page 4 – Make It (This page can be used however you like. Kids can use playdoh, dabbers, stickers, rainbow writing, etc to make the letter.)

Page 5 – Match It (Kids should look at the letter in the star and circle the match on the lines next to it.)

Page 6 – Trace It (Kids should use the arrows on the first letter as a guide to trace the letters on each line. The embedded mnemonic pictures are included here as well for lowercase letters.)

Page 7 – Write It (Kids should use the dots as a guide to practice writing the uppercase and lowercase letter.)

*Vowels include pages for both the short and long vowel sounds.
