Tips on Using the Adapted Books in Early Childhood or Special Education Classrooms

For preschool and early childhood students, use the printable book during small group story time or morning meeting. Students can hold the pictures while you are read. When you get to the page with their picture, they can hold up their hands to put the picture on.

Special education students in middle and high school working on life skills instruction in the special education classroom interact with the adapted books by matching pictures to pictures and/or words to words.  They can demonstrate comprehension through choosing the right picture or word with the interactive pieces.
