This Instrument Family Write the Room Activity is a great way for students to review at the end of your instruments of the orchestra unit.

✅ Music Write the Room How To: Write the Room activities are wonderful for enforcing concepts in the elementary music room. For this activity, you’ll need to choose which version best fits your students’ needs. Print the recording sheet, answer key (optional), and cards for your chosen version. I like to laminate the cards, so they last longer. Cut out and hang the cards around the room. Students walk around the room with their recording sheet and write down the answers in the corresponding space.

There are two versions of this Instrument Family Write the Room. In the first version, students search the room for instrument cards and write down the name of the instrument. In the second version, students write the instrument family on their recording sheet. You can choose which version best fits your classroom!

Write the Room activities are a perfect example of independent work in the elementary music classroom. Not only do they give your students a chance to work independently, but they are reinforcing key concepts!
