Reading words with consonant blends is such an exciting step for readers!

This CCVC assessment is aligned to CCSS RF.K.3, RF.1.3 and RF.1.3b, but it can be used for students in any grade that struggle with decoding. Each assessment contains 20 randomly chosen words from a list of over 100 words. To help you pinpoint exactly where your students are having difficulty, the list of 20 words includes 4 words each of short a, short e, short i, short o, and short u.

Digraphs (th, ch, sh, ph, qu, and wh) are included in this assessment, and ck is used as an ending.
