WHAT IS IT?Information Source Analysis is a resource that guides students through an analysis of three different media sources. Students will analyze the context of each source and draw conclusions about the importance of analyzing their sources of information. In your download, you will have access to a digital version and a print tab book.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You can assign this resource using Google Classroom or Google Drive, OR you can make copies of the printable tab book that is included. On the directions tab, you will find the assignment that I use. This assignment asks students to analyze three different sources related to the JFK assassination. The directions tab is editable, so you can modify the assignment to fit your students’ needs.
WHY DOES IT WORK?
My husband is the AP Government and Politics teacher at our school. Together, we created this analysis for our Social Studies and English classes to help our students understand the importance of analyzing their sources of information. In light of the recent misinformation articles made prevalent by social media, students now more than ever need to learn the skills necessary to evaluate their sources of information.
What’s included?
Media Source Analysis Tab Book: This resource is designed specifically to be used with Google Slides via Google Classroom or Google Drive. It can be printed to use as a hardcopy as well.
Digital File Video Tutorial: A link to a short video tutorial demonstrating how to open and save your source is included in your download.
