Description

These enrichment boards contain choices for students to further their learning on independently chosen science and social studies topics. Each one can be used for any science or social studies topic. I suggest printing these at the beginning of the year and laminating to be re-used all year.

Choices included:
Science: Write an informational report; create a glossary of important words; choose a scientist to research and write a speech from his/her point of view; create an informational poster; make an ABC book of important words; create a crossword puzzle including vocabulary words from the unit; write a song or poem; teach the class a lesson on your topic; write a reader's theater.

Social Studies: Write an informational report; choose a historical person to research; create an informational poster; make an ABC book of important words; write a song or poem; teach the class a lesson on your topic; write a reader's theater; make a timeline showing important events; create a map that shows important places related to the topic.

Teaching Suggestion:
I use these project choices for gifted students and others who master the content at an accelerated rate and need enrichment opportunities while the rest of the class continues to work on content standards.
