☑ 2017 Google Interactive Membership {GROWING BUNDLE} - Current & Future Products
This ❤ Google Interactive Activity ❤ is an engaging practice of "Identifying the Slope and Y-Intercept" from a given equation.
GOAL of this Activity
Students are given a total of 12 equations. 6 Equations are written in Slope-Intercept Form and another set of 6 equations is written in Standard Form. The ultimate goal is that every student would need to identify the value of the slope and the value of the y-intercept successfully given any of these 2 forms.
The slopes are as follows: (maybe integers or fractions)
☑ 4 Questions have a positive slope (A certain slope maybe shared with another question)
☑ 4 Questions have a negative slope (A certain y-intercept maybe shared with another question)
☑ 2 Question has an undefined slope (students need to know "x = a")
☑ 2 Question has a zero slope (students need to know: "y = b")
Students are expected to be familiar with:
☑ Identifying the slope of an equation given in "Slope-Intercept Form"
☑ Identifying the y-intercept of an equation written in "Slope-Intercept Form"
☑ The value of the slope when the equation is written as "y = b"
☑ The value of the slope when the equation is written as "x = a"
How does this activity work?
There are 2 Activities. The First Activity has 6 questions that are written in Slope-Intercept Form. Students will find the matching slope and the matching y-intercept from the slope-intercept bank. At the end, based on their matches, students would have formed a unique 3 letter word that would need to be written and recorded in a chart provided at end of the activity to be shared with the teacher.
The Second Activity consists of 6 equations written in Standard Form. The procedure of running the second activity is the same as the first.
This activity includes the followings:
☑ Instructions on how to obtain the Google Interactive Activity
☑ Instructions on how to perform the activity (with pictures)
☑ 12 questions (PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PREVIEW for the some of the questions BEFORE PURCHASING) - You could assign Activity 1, 2 or both activites - ALL 12 questions.
☑ A detailed illustrated example on how to answer the questions
☑ Answer Key
When to Use?
This activity is great to assign as a homework, in-class work, Bell Work, using Google Slides. My students are always engaged with Google Slides. This is FUN is the new motto in my classroom. When I assign an activity to be completed at home, some students use their computers, some use their phones, while others use their IPADs. As long as there is a Google Drive there is a way.
As the answer key is included in the file. I usually share it when all assignments are turned in "Electronically"
