This IB CAS Reflection and Discussion resource is designed to provide students with a structured and engaging way to reflect on their CAS experiences and to share their thoughts with their peers. It is perfect for any stage of CAS once students have started their experiences, but particularly good for using before or during the 2nd formal interview. It can also be used in any service learning program. We use them to make the interview more student-led. We distribute the prompts, they choose which ones to discuss, and we simply monitor and record the audio. It's then uploaded to their CAS portfolio and voila - all done! Feedback from students:

The resource includes more than 40 different prompt cards that cover all the learning outcomes. Each card includes a thought-provoking question or statement that encourages students to think deeply about their experiences and to share their insights with their classmates. You can choose as few or as many as you like. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! You also get a printable board game that can be printed in either colour and greyscale.
The cards can be used in a variety of ways, such as during small group discussions, as writing prompts for reflection journals, or as prompts for whole-class discussions. They can also be easily integrated into existing CAS activities or used as a standalone resource. A board game is included to ensure you can use these cards with the same cohort multiple times.
With this IB CAS Reflection and Discussion resource, your students will gain valuable insights into their own CAS experiences and develop their communication and critical thinking skills (ATLs) in the process.
