"I Have, Who Has" Math Measurement Game

This game has a set of cards each of which contains both a question and an answer. The question will relate to a measurement conversion such as pints to cups, pounds to ounces, etc. An example is "Who has the number of quarts in 3 gallons?" However the answer on each card is to a completely different question. So another student will have a card that says "I have 12. The cards are passed out one to a student (or some students can be given 2 if you have some left over as all should be used). Pick a student who begins by reading his card aloud. The other students must listen carefully to see if their card contains the answer to the question read on the first card. If so that student reads aloud the part of his card that has the correct answer followed by the question that is found on his card. Again all students again listen to see if their card contains the answer to this new problem. Play continues until you get back to the student who read his card first. You may then take the cards up, shuffle them up. and pass them out again to replay the game. At any point in the game if students are unable to come up with the answer, the teacher can offer help on the board as needed.

This game is an excellent way to review math skills, but it is equally great for the practice of listening skills and mental math. All students are engaged and all students must work out each problem to see if they are the one whose card contains the correct answer.
