What educators are saying

These are so cute and just what I was looking for! We used them to write to our pen pals in New Jersey. They loved them too!
My students were getting into letter writing. This fit the bill for a center. They loved it and constantly wrote letters to everyone this wished to. It was appreciated by everyone.

Description

Are you teaching your students or your child how to write a letter to a friend? These seasonal friendly letter templates are scaffolded in order to help the students remember all of the parts of a friendly letter. Also, the lines are shortened in places so that the students can see the spatial aspects of the form of a letter.

I often ask the students to write a letter to a friend to be sent in the school-wide mail system. Now that the students are separated from their friends during this social distancing season, it is important to give students the opportunity to write a letter to your friend or to your family members.

The specific words on the letter writing paper coincide with Dr. Jean’s song, “The Parts of a Letter”. We sing it together as a class and act out the motions. It is sung to the tune of, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.”

This set includes:

p. 4 -18 ~ friendly letter frames with scaffolding in 10 different Spring designs {Five are more “jazzed up”.}

p. 20 - 34 ~ friendly letter frames without scaffolding in 10 different Spring designs {Five are more “jazzed up”.}

p. 35 - 38 ~ Address lines and fold lines that can be copied on the backs of the letters {There are 4 different choices that have coordinating "stamps"}

Please see the preview for pictures of the resources included for teaching how to write a letter for a friend.

Have fun learning how to write a letter to a friend and sending the letter through the mail in the old-fashioned way!
