How to Practice - The AIRRR Approach - Flute Focused
- PDF
Description
Do your students practice but get nowhere, or have very little progress? Do you find it difficult to teach students HOW to practice? This is a flute focused booklet that includes examples from Scherzino by Anderson (public domain) to demonstrate practice techniques. The first 13 pages are explanation, examples and philosophy, the next 26 pages are a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint presentation goes over a concrete method for students to learn how to practice. I would encourage teachers to first teach the overall concept: AIRRR then break up the different practice techniques over various class periods. The slides are in treble clef, alto clef, and bass clef in a generally accessible range. These slides are appropriate for band and orchestra or for use in a private lesson setting.
