Description

This original motivational and interactive staff-development poem and song from Bee with Babsy B shares the how behind a teacher’s privilege and commitment to develop students’ oral language––the hearing and speaking of vocabulary and knowledge––such that every student can meet success as a reader and writer to become a lifelong learner. I wrote this poem to provide a fun and motivational tool that shares the how behind my commitment to develop oral language—the hearing and speaking of vocabulary and knowledge—such that every student meets success as a reader and writer and becomes a lifelong learner. I soon learned that “How I Teach” could be effective in my staff-development seminars that focus on developing oral language. The short poem, which can be sung to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” invites attendees to join in to say or sing about what it is that we do to develop oral language in students while preparing them for success as readers and writers. I also use this poem at the close of my oral language development trainings, and seminar attendees ask for ”How I Teach” to use in their own staff-development sessions and/or as a personal reminder of their commitment to teaching. Attendees also ask for my similar poem/song, “Why I Teach.” In response to teacher requests, I’m pleased to offer both poems as two of several products in My TpT Store designed for individual motivation and as staff-development tools. You will also find a number of my original poems with activities for use with students, as well as more of my unique and original teaching products. Thank you for downloading this product. Enjoy!
