Description

Get homework sorted this year with Homework Grids: the ready-made and automated homework scheme. Designed for all abilities, pupils will be sure to enjoy completing engaging tasks in writing, math, SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar), reading and research topics. With 120 tasks and no formal marking required, everyone's a winner.

This eco-friendly scheme of work only requires one homework grid to be printed per child every six weeks, which is an enormous save on paper compared to weekly homework print-outs!

Instructions:

  • Photocopy and hand out the 1st homework grid to all (each one lasts for 6 weeks)
  • Each homework grid has tasks worth 1 - 4 points (20 points required per child)
  • Children can pick their tasks (but must complete at least one task per row)
  • Hand out certificates after each homework grid (and repeat with the next grid!)

Homework Grids requires no preparation and provides everything your class needs for engaging and curriculum boosting homework all year round. Each of the 120 tasks have been carefully selected so that they are at set at the correct level. There are easier and harder tasks on each homework grid, so all abilities will be able to get on independently at home.

Once children hand homework in, you can add their points to the homework points tracker (included in the download - to be displayed in the classroom) to show children who has completed how many points to date. You may find that there is some healthy competition between children to see who can complete the most homework! Children who love doing homework can complete all the tasks - so you never have to worry about handing out extra homework!

You may want to set aside a certain time each week where children can present homework to the rest of the class, such as PowerPoints or posters.

Finally, it is up to you whether the children do their homework on separate pieces of paper or whether you give them a homework book to do it all in, but ensure there is a designated homework tray in the classroom for children to hand their homework in to.

Grade 4 research topics include:

  • Mindfulness
  • Deforestation
  • Natural disasters
  • The ancient Greeks
  • Renewable energy
  • Cyberbullying
