Description
This activity can be used for any history or literature class covering the Holocaust in World War II.
Personally, I have used it for U.S. History (11th) grade classroom. The older students are able to process the images at a deeper level and do a great job with the "Responsibility for the Holocaust" Activity.
1) Create a Holocaust “Museum” by displaying the images included in this document around your classroom.
2) Use the Holocaust Gallery Walk Activity Sheet to let students reflect while observing the images. You can opt to play background music to set the tone for the activity.
3) After students have viewed all the images and have had time to complete their Holocaust Gallery Walk Activity Sheet, discuss responses to Holocaust Gallery Walk.
4) To continue/follow up discussion of the Holocaust Gallery, have students assess responsibility for the Holocaust using the Responsibility for the Holocaust? Activity Sheet. You may read the statements aloud one by one or have them complete all 8 statements and discuss as a whole.
