Holiday Activities "Pick-a-Word" Word Work

Holiday "Pick-a-Words" and Word Fun activities are the perfect addition to any holiday/gingerbread language arts units. These literacy center activities are ideal for grades 2-3.

For the Pick-a-Words, students get to fill in the blanks (practicing their parts of speech) and then illustrate their Pick-a-Word. If students complete all five of the Pick-a-Words, they can turn it into their very own Holiday Book (cover page included!). Or, you can compile a class book to keep in your library, which students LOVE!

-Words Worth - This is my newly created activity where students unscramble a holiday word and then have to figure out its value. The best part, students then scramble their own words and have a partner try to unscramble them and find their value!

-Catch the Gingerbread Maze

-Holiday Comic Strip - Can also be used as a pre-write about the holidays. These make a cute bulletin board for December/January.
