Description

This is a research project over famous Hispanic Americans in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Students will learn about the background information and major achievements of famous Hispanic Americans such as singer Celia Cruz, baseball legend Roberto Clemente, author Isabel Allende, astronaut Ellen Ochoa, and educator Jamie Escalante.

This project includes a list of 50 famous Hispanic Americans (25 women and 25 men), an example project over Cesar Chavez in English, a research project template in English and Spanish, and a grading rubric in English and Spanish. Research categories include: Photo, Born/Died, Birthplace, Nationality, Occupation, Fame/Importance, Major Achievements, Most Interesting Fact, and Question I Would Ask.

This project may also be completed as an internet scavenger hunt using the internet in a computer lab, using a mobile lab, or by allowing students to use their own electronic devices. All of the research categories about each of the 50 famous Hispanic Americans included can be found online at www.wikipedia.org. This is a great cultural activity when celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month or Hispanic culture. Makes a great bulletin display!
