Description

Engage your students into Ancient Egypt with this Pun-tastic Worksheet!

Included on the page is a full Hieroglyphic Alphabet to reference, the lead of a joke written in English ("Why did the Mummy go to the doctor??"), and the punchline of the joke written out in easy to read, well spaced Egyptian hieroglyphics.

Above each Hieroglyphic symbol involved in the punchline is a line to write the equivalent English character.

Note- the Egyptians did not differentiate between many sounds that English speakers do, such as the hard 'c' and 'k' sounds, and the 'v' and 'w' sounds. This is displayed in the alphabet I provided, and can serve as an interesting cultural talking point.
