Hebrew Letters For English Speakers (Modern Sephardi) is a phonetic and pictorial, digital flashcard, alphabetic slide show series for a whole class or center activity and is amazing for your Hebrew instruction, even when distance learning.
This is a paperless, self-running, self-checking, visual, musical, engaging, "digital flashcard" program. You will complete each slide activity in as little as 5 minutes or as much as 30 minutes of class time.
** Great for distance learning! Share your screen with your students. (Zoom sharing Instructions here- https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362153-How-Do-I-Share-My-Screen-)
Check out the amazing PREVIEW movie. Make sure you can see the Hebrew letter names at the bottom of the slide and volume is turned on.
- NOTE- Make sure you have PowerPoint software on which to play the presentation.
- NOTE- Aleph and Ayin are presented as silent letters because only their vowels make sounds. If you really feel strongly that you want a picture on the aleph or ayin slide, just drop your own clip art or photograph onto the slide. It's that easy!
- Buyers can change the letter name spelling and slide speed with PowerPoint controls.
My slide presentations of Hebrew letters are easier for English speakers, because other programs present Hebrew words, not English words with the letters. So, a lion is often shown with the letter aleph, and a camel is shown for gimmel. In my slide show series, though, the English pictures make sense to English speakers:
- banana start with bet
- veterinarian starts with vet
- gate starts with gimmel
Amazingly, those words are actually Hebrew words, too! Yes, all the pictures in my slide shows, are the initial sounds in BOTH languages!
Students have a few moments to guess or say the name of the letter on the screen before the correct answer appears, giving instant feedback! Educational researchers say this is very motivating for kids, and the reason they are drawn to video games. Simulate that feedback with these presentations.
