Assessment: Students will self-assess based on the given example. Then I will assess each bumblebee as I write the student’s name and smiley face on the bee.
Methods and materials: Students will create a bumblebee by cutting out yellow and black hearts, layering hearts, gluing them down, and adding a face/ their name with sharpies. These are super cute on a classroom door with a bee hive or on valentine’s bags for their party.
Extension ideas: Include informational text read-aloud about bees to bring in Science, Vocabulary, and Literacy. There could also be a writing piece to go with this project.
