We used this after studying the cardiovascular system. It was fun for the students to collect their own data and then graph it. We then had whole group discussion about the variations. Handout and PowerPoint were spot on and easy to use as is.

Description

"Who's got the beat?" is a self-directed lab that students can do easily at home. No equipment needed.

In this lab, students will learn about heart rate, conduct an experiment to measure it at rest and after an exercise, document data in tables and create a graph in Google sheets (instructions included) and finally answer analysis questions.

This product includes:

  1. fully editable Google Slide presentation (26 slides)
  2. editable Student worksheets (6-pages)
  3. teacher answer key (6-pages)

Google Slide

  • just upload the presentation on your online classroom such as Google classroom
  • students will read it on their own (or you can show it in class)
  • includes
    • heart rate information plus embedded video
    • instructions to experiment (includes visuals for easy understanding)
    • how to write a hypothesis (plus videos and examples)
    • What are variables?
    • tutorial how to create a graph in Google sheets
