Handwriting Aide Posters - Tall, Small, and Letters That Fall

I have finally found the solution to getting children to consistently write their letters correctly on lined paper! Even better, I have trained them to use these posters to self-check and be sure what they have written is correct!

Do your children make all of their letters the same size? Do all of their letters sit on the base line even when some should hang below it (like g, y, j) ? Do all of their letters float around between the lines? Etc, etc, etc?

This file is used as a guide to help children remember the way they should correctly write letters. I leave this guide up all year long and the children to refer to it frequently while writing. (See preview!)

I teach them about tall letters, small letters, and letters that fall:
Tall letters - b, d, f, h, k, l, t
Small letters - a, c, e, i, m, n, o, r, s, u, v, w, x, z
Fall letters - g, j, p, q, y

Print this file, assemble the pages together to create three long strips and hang on your wall with the poem near them. You will save yourself so much time and the kids will feel successful!
