Description
This is a hands on lab for children to explore the invisible power of magnets. They will make a mini paper kite and learn to fly their kite using a magnet. It includes detailed teacher notes, a list of materials, blackline masters of various sizes of kite to try. There is also a simple lab sheet to record results of their kite> It includes ideas to change variables for different sizes and weights of kites, different strengths of magnets, as well as the ability to try to improve on the idea and record it on the back of the sheet. I have included a space to attach their kite and string so they can take it home and teach someone to fly the kite and explain how it works. Teaching someone else and explaining it will help to remember and apply the concept of attraction.
I also included a song chart as a bonus.
