Description
This reading game uses 6 short Halloween-themed fictional texts to provide practice in identifying the story elements of characters, setting, problem, plot, and solution. Before playing bingo, read the stories aloud to students and/or complete the included mini-passages. When you're ready for bingo, simply print and play using up to 24 pre-made cards. To play, the teacher draws a bingo calling card and reads the clue aloud. Students identify the Halloween character and the story element. The story characters include Max Mummy, Wanda Witch, Dixie Dragon, Count Dracula, Gus Ghost, and Frankenstein. Students can also illustrate the Halloween stories using the included coloring pages. Great holiday practice for story elements with a bit of inferencing too!
Play this game digitally using Easel Activities. Students can use the bingo card that corresponds to their classroom number or randomly choose a card. A teacher draws a calling card and reads the clues aloud. This can be in a classroom setting or online using a video conferencing platform such as Zoom. Students use the pen tool to mark the correct answer if it is on their bingo card.
