Description
Need an engaging way to practice simplifying & finding equivalent fractions? Grab this fun ghost puzzle activity! This is a great alternative to a practice worksheet in October.
Students cut out the 24 shapes. 66 fractions are provided for students to match up. 33 of the fractions will need to be simplified, and then students can spot the equivalent match!
Once they match them all up correctly, the shape of a ghost is formed. Students will know as they work if they are solving correctly when the pieces match up.
This is a great activity to practice equivalent fractions on Halloween, as test prep, for early finishers, for math centers, or just extra practice! It would work well for a partner activity.
Tips & Ideas:
- All the pieces are included on one sheet of paper. You can have students cut out their own puzzle pieces and assemble, or you could create sets and laminate them.
- Students might glue their work down to create a finished product that you could display, or you could reuse the pieces for multiple classes to save time.
- Print on several different colors of paper in case a piece gets mixed up among students.
A sample of the finished ghost is included.
