Halloween Music Game: Monster Mash Candy Bash

This product is an interactive multiple choice-style game to help students learn beat durations of notes and rests. There are 18 different multiple-choice style questions. (6 two-note/rest, and 12 three-note/rest equations)

Students are presented with a musical equation, and are then asked to select the candy bowl with the correct number of beats. If they choose correctly, the slide will say, "Treat" and the student will be prompted to go to the "Find More Candy". If the child chooses incorrectly, they will be greeted with an image that says, "Trick! Try Again!" and they will have an opportunity to choose again.

Feel free to develop your own game rules by playing as a class in teams, or having students play in groups, should you have the technology available.

There are two versions of the game included with this download:

-Presentations: PowerPoint (Mac or PC) - Mac users can right click the icon and select "Open With Keynote" if preferred.

-PDF File (Adobe Reader recommended)

-Extra Blank JPEGs for personalization (WARNING: editing the PPT may interfere with the game hyperlinks)

Use the PDF version on your mobile device or tablet! If using the iPhone or iPad, the PDF file will work very well when opened with iBooks.

If using the PDF on a computer, best results will be achieved by using Adobe Reader (free download available). Stock PDF software on your computer will work, but is not recommended for use.

IMPORTANT - if using the PowerPoint presentation file, clicking anywhere on the slide will advance to the next slide. Make sure you are only clicking the clickable areas. I recommend having students use the PDF version because this problem is eliminated.
