Halloween Math 3rd Grade ~ Halloween Math Centers + ELA Centers

That week before Halloween (and the day of classroom parties, in particular!) can be DIFFICULT to get through, when your little goblins can think only about tricks and treats! That’s where these Halloween math & ELA centers come in…this bundle includes 6 standards-based, high-interest Halloween math and ELA centers, so your kiddos can be engaged and practicing their skills, even on the day of that sugar-fueled Halloween party!

These centers can be used all at once (i.e., students rotate through 6 consecutive stations in your classroom) or as stand-alone activities incorporated into your existing math or ELA centers.

Included are materials for 6 centers:

Measurement Mysteries: Students measure Halloween figures to the nearest half inch, record, and make a line plot using their data. (3.MD.4)

Creepy Computation: Students choose Halloween-themed number cards, then record and solve multiplication equations. (3.OA.7)

Problem Solving Party Time: Students solve problems from 24 colorful, themed task cards. Concepts include basic multiplication and division within 100, 2-step problems, elapsed time, place value, and addition/subtraction with regrouping. (3.OA.7, 3.OA.8, 3.MD.1, 3.NBT.2)

Spooky Subtraction: Students choose Halloween-themed number cards, then record and solve subtraction (with and without regrouping) equations. (3.NBT.2)

Halloween Funny Fill-Ins: In classic “Mad Lib” style, students practice their grammar skills creating silly Halloween stories filled with goofy grammar. (L.3.1) The Funny Fill-Ins are also available separately, HERE.

Silly Sentences: Students roll the dice and choose from 108 Halloween-themed word cards, and are challenged to create silly sentences using the words they choose.
