Description

This fully editable lesson plan and worksheet comes with a lesson plan and worksheet for teaching a fun Halloween-inspired class on haikus! Pass out the Halloween topic cards and have students generate words, phrases and feelings associated with the Halloween words. Then, teach your students the structure of a haiku and show examples.

Let your students bring all their Halloween words and topics together and practice writing haikus in small groups - and share out for extra Halloween class fun - and then have students demonstrate understanding by writing their own haiku.

For homework, have students edit, revise and type up their haiku and/or have them create an image or illustration to complement the haiku!
