What educators are saying

This activity was such a fun and creative way for students to practice language. I loved that it came with a digital version for us to use as the cutting of the candy is a daunting task for some.
My students loved using this source! It was a fun activity for the week of Halloween and a great way to learn about synonyms and antonyms! My students love learning with crafting at the same time!

Description

This engaging sorting activity puts a fun spin on analyzing word relationships and identifying synonyms and antonyms. Choose between the print version and the TpT Digital Easel version.

PRINT CRAFTIVITY VERSION- Students are given two worksheets. On one worksheet, students will analyze 12 pairs of words and determine whether each is a synonym pair or an antonym pair. On the second page, students are given four words, and they must generate synonyms and antonyms for the words listed. When finished with the worksheets, they color the images, sort the candies into the correct treat bags, and assemble the craftivity. It makes a creative bulletin board or school hallway display for October!

Student-friendly directions are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project. An answer key is also included.

TPT DIGITAL EASEL VERSION- This is a paperless version that can be completed on a device. Each slide contains a synonym treat bag, an antonym treat bag, and one piece of candy. Each piece of candy has two words written on it. If the two words are synonyms, students drag the candy piece to the synonym treat bag. If the two words are antonyms, students drag the candy piece to the antonym treat bag. Students sort sixteen words in all.
