Description
In this recipe lesson, students prepare Hummus from scratch. Recipe reading, comprehension, retention, vocabulary, measurements, and identification of whole foods and kitchen tools create a lesson in healthy eating and learning. Students follow a flexible recipe to learn routines and systems in the kitchen classroom to complete the recipe. Recognizing basic tools and equipment and learning basic knife skills (where age applicable), safety, and food handling are all key objectives.
