Description

When I was in school, I didn't understand that verbs could be both "subjunctive" and "present perfect." My teachers would always teach verb tenses, moods, and aspects separately, so it wasn't until I was an adult that I realized how they work together to communicate an idea.

Now that I'm working on the other side of the desk, I decided I wanted to make a handout that illustrated the relationships between verb tenses, moods, and aspects. The result has two pages: the first defines verb aspects, then builds on those definitions by illustrating how each verb aspect could be used in each verb mood; the second uses a timeline to illustrate how each verb aspect is used in each of the verb tenses.
