Description

As teachers, we need to communicate the progress our students have made at reading. Whether you use Fountas and Pinnell, DRA, or any other reading level testing system, this parent letter will work for you.

Included is 2 different parent letters. The first one can be used at the beginning of the year or any other time during the year. The second letter should be used a the end of the year. Both letters have lines to write in the name, date, current reading level, and level that is expected. The neat thing about the second end of the year letter is that you can write in all of the previous tested levels and the dates. Both letters also have information on how to pass a reading level and a link to the Scholastic Book Wizard.

I use this with my 4th graders to communicate to their parents their independent reading levels. I send it home 3 times during the year: fall, winter, and spring/end of year. It really helps the parents find "just right" books for their children.
