Description

Address naming/labeling, responsive naming, and inferencing through this animal-themed Boom™ deck featuring realistic photos. This deck is a great resource for addressing language goals with all ages of animal loving individuals! The picture of the animal and the written word may be revealed separately to allow for scaffolding of language tasks: responsive naming, picture naming, and written word reading to state the animal name. Because the photo covers are drag-able, visual and written cues may be graduated in difficulty, as needed.

Present the animal description as a responsive naming task. Slide the forest to the right to reveal a real photo of the animal. Slide the mossy rocks to the left to reveal the written word.

The animal descriptions provide opportunities for

  • vocabulary
  • word finding/labeling
  • inferencing
  • context clues
  • conversation

There are 25 animals included in this deck: cheetah, skunk, hippopotamus, jellyfish, cow, kangaroo, elephant, chicken, seahorse, pig, sloth, penguin, snail, chameleon, hamster, wolf, panda, turtle, owl, frog, flamingo, zebra, squirrel, butterfly, and sheep.
