Description

Learning Greek and Latin word roots and their meanings will help your students be more successful in all academic subjects! These colorful word root slides will give your students a chance to learn Greek and Latin roots visually, orally and in written form.

This Powerpoint presentation contains 247 slides covering 80+ different word roots.

For each word root presented there are 3 different slides.

Slide 1- Introduce the root and brainstorm words containing that root. Try to determine the meaning of the root based on the words it is used in.

Slide 2- definition of the word root and an illustration/picture to define the root.

Slide 3- Graphic organizer to connect the word root, definition, picture, and word examples.

A blackline master of the graphic organizer is included. You can make copies for students to fill out as you teach, or have them draw the graphic organizer in their notebook.

This presentation will appeal to multiple learning styles- visual, oral, and tactile. Kids will see the roots, hear them spoken, see illustrations, and write down information related to the root. Using all three senses helps strengthen the depth of learning!

This product (and the word roots covered) corresponds with my other two Greek and Latin products:

Greek and Latin Word Root Cards
and
Greek and Latin Word Root Spelling and Vocabulary Program

Please download the preview to see a close up of the slides and how I use them in my classroom.

You will need to have Powerpoint installed on your computer to open this file. Powerpoint slides show well on Smart Boards as well!
